The Bourland Team Build

Dear Friends and Family,

God has shown us His favor by giving us energy this month. The weather has been beautiful all month long! This week’s build was led by Ben Bourland and Teague Pilcher. They put together a great team of guys who thought they needed to sprint through this build. In fact someone asked, “Are you guys in a race?” We painters had to rush to keep up with them because the siding was going up so quickly. Hector, our Mexican Construction Superintendent, always says, “Happy, Happy, Happy; Build, Build, Build and do it all with a big smile! You are giving to God as you build this house.”

Happy, Happy, Happy; Build, Build, Build and do it all with a big smile! You are giving to God as you build this house.
— Hector, Construction Superintendent

This Orange house was given to a young mom with three daughters, 9 yrs, 12 yrs. and 14 yrs.  Carmen, the mama, worked with us all day, along with her youngest daughter. This family attends Calvary Chapel Rosarito so I am sure they are thanking the Lord for their new home. As the keys were handed to them, both Carmen and her youngest daughter had tears in their eyes. Yes it was a happy, happy, happy day for all of us.

Later we took the team to Taco’s Manuel.  22 quesadillas, 24 tacos, 1 burrito, 1 bowl of soup, lots of sodas, water, and horchata (Mexican rice drink) were consumed. If you work hard and fast, you need to eat!

Saturday morning after breakfast at the Pancake Republic, we headed to Tijuana for a ministry outreach. Many people accepted Jesus as Savior and were given a Bible and the Purple Book (Bible Study Book). One of the couples who joined us will lead this group in the Bible study using the Purple Book as a guide.

Saturday afternoon we hosted a hotdog fiesta at Carlos and Gina’s church compound, along with games. This ends another week of work, fellowship and fun. Thank you to our donors and friends for helping Home for Home. Lives have been changed through building homes and sharing the Good News.

Sincerely,

Jon and JoAnn Youngquist
